M. Project Minimalism (8th Grade)
Students studied the concepts of minimalist art and design, and created a painting based off a photograph from their downtown exploration field trip. Students were to pull out excess details and "noise" from their objects in order to find the essence of their object for their paintings. They also learned how to carve wood and create a three-dimensional piece that interacts with the painting component of the project.
